Muhajrin and Ansar (the Emigrants and Helpers)

A person who leaves his home or country to live elsewhere. This might be because of so many reasons behind. Political, economical, religious or for better living. In Islam Hijrat means to leave homes for the sake of Islam, when it is in danger as occurred in Makkah. Makkan Muslims firstly migrated to Habsha (Ethiopia) and later to Madinah. Interesting point is that Madinah before Hijrat was called Yasrab and after Hijrat is became known as Madina tul Nabi(pbuh) migrantion was not an easy process. Some of the Muhajreen felt frustration for what they had left behind in Makkah including birth places, relatives and possessions etc, means an emotional situation had occurred. Soon after Hijrah, Holy Prophet established a bond of brotherhood each Muhajir to one of the Ansar, resident of Madinah. Thus the Ansar provided material and moral support to their brothers. No doubt a remarkable and excellent example was set up in the world history.
