Guinea worm

This a new type of medical problem in which a three foot or one meter long worm slowly emerges form a blister in a person’s skin. This worm is asymptomatic and lives in person for up to a year before painful emerging. It is poised disease. The world health organisation warns that the next cases may be the most difficult to control. Eradication campaign is in progress. Just 27 cases were reported in Sahara Africa. Guinea worm is contracted by drinking infected water.
